Smelly, hot and dirty changing rooms. Need to sort of the cleanliness and hygiene standards. Unisex changing rooms is a big factor not to return Can call me old fashioned. I prefer separate Male and Female changing rooms for safety, comfort and reassurance. A pathetic locker system having to bring in your own padlock! That could easily be tampered or broken into for thieves to gain access to your smart phones and money. Would rather pay extra and go to a private leisure centre with separate changing facilities. Will not return, mainly due to the unisex changing facilities.

The swimming pool is very dirty. There is bad smell in changing rooms last couple of months, toilet paper and rubbish, left cups, clothes. I’m really concerned about the conditions there.

My daughter attended her first swimming lesson today at Perdiswell leisure centre and we were pleasantly surprised. After reading the reviews this morning I was quite dubious about taking her. We attended the swimming lesson with the little ones, as my daughter cannot go into the bigger group yet until she is 3 (next month). Though we may choose to stay in the little ones class for a while because in the preschool class the parents do not get in with them. Which would be very different for my daughter. The instructor was Debbie and she was lovely. The class was quite small which was nice but no one spoke to each other sadly (my daughter is very sociable). The pool temperature was okay, we are used to warmer but we could not fault the cleanliness of the showers/ changing rooms. I did however feel that the class lacked structure, as half the time we did not know what we were supposed to be doing. The pool is very shallow and while it was a positive that I did not have to hold my daughter the whole time- the issue was that she had no interest in swimming because she could walk the whole time. My daughter was also given arm bands which we are not used to. I am aware that different instructors have differing views on arm bands. The class was very different to what we are used to but as the monthly cost is so reasonable we shall give it another try.
